Replacement Battery?

A Philips HeartStart Home and Philips OnSite AED defibrillator replacement battery is the replacement accessory for the Philips HS1 AED and also the Philips FRx. This long-life lithium battery provides power to both models of AED’s. This is an important component of any emergency device that could save a life in case of a medical emergency. The Philips HeartStart defibrillator battery carries a 4-year Standby life (life while installed in the AED and in standby mode) and 5-year shelf life (new and uninstalled in AED).

Powerful Shock Battery?

The battery has the capacity to deliver a minimum of 200 shocks or 4 hours of patient monitoring for cardiac arrest victims including a four-year installed life which makes the Philips HeartStart Onsite AED an amazing and long-lasting device.

Lithium Manganese Dioxide Long Life Battery?

The HeartStart battery is a long-lasting lithium manganese dioxide battery that lasts for 4 years before expiring for the Philips AED, FRx, and HS1 model. Philips is the manufacturer of the HeartStart five-year shelf life HeartStart battery. Install Before Date?

One very confusing aspect with managing the expiration dates on a Philips Onsite/FRx battery is understanding the Install Before date that is printed on the battery. This date is the last date the battery can be installed in the AED to start its 4-year life installed and in standby mode in the device. The shelf life of the battery defined as the amount of time the battery can sit on a shelf as a backup before it is installed in an AED. The Install Before date identifies that date that when passed, the battery should not be installed in an AED.

How do I change the battery in my Philips HeartStart?

The Philips HS1 and the FRx both have easy swap batteries. All you need to do is click the release tab on the battery and lift it off. Replace the old battery with a new one. Note it is extremely important to record the install date when you change the battery in your HS1 or FRx, which starts the clock on a four-year expiration time frame from installation to expiration. Note our AEDMD management software will track this for you, and even includes a mobile phone readiness check system.

How do I know if my battery needs to be replaced?

If you notice that your Philips HeartStart home or onsite HS1 defibrillator has trouble powering up, it may be time for a replacement. The device will also alert you when the batteries are low and need to be replaced by a flashing amber light.
